Bella’s Mom contacted us from Van Nuys, California, and like many others needing financial assistance because she wanted to be with young Bella for as long as possible. Here is a little of what she had to say:

“I am writing to apply for financial assistance. My five year old Boston Terrier Bella was diagnosed with a cancerous mast cell tumor in her ear. We have done other testing to make sure that her chest was clean as well as her kidney, liver, and spleen. It is contained to her ear. Her oncologist feels that with surgery she can live a longer life, if not her complete life span. Bella is a big part of our life. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. I am unable to afford the surgery due to have a child and surgery of my own. We have been denied personal loans and received minimal assistance from CareCredit…”

At the JLACF we do not think that finances should be a factor influencing a Family’s decision about whether or not to pursue specialty care for their furry families. After we let her know that we could help Bella, she was pretty excited!

“Words can’t even describe how grateful I am right now. Bella is my first baby and I want more years with her. Thank you SO much… I will keep you updated on how she is doing. I would also like to give back to the foundation when I am more financially stable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
